We offer a clear and open pricing structure, ensuring that parents know exactly what they are paying for as well as the systems in place for this. The pricing policy is reviewed annually at the end of each academic year (July) and any increase in fees will be effective from the start of the next academic year (September). If unforeseen circumstances dictate that fees need to be increased at some other point in the year (through a rise in overheads) parents will be notified of this a term in advance, wherever possible.
Registration and deposit:
whilst there is no registration fee, there is a deposit of a £30 cheque which secures your child’s place and safeguards the nursery against your child not taking their place as agreed. This cheque deposit should be provided within 7 days of accepting a place and will only be cashed if you don’t inform the nursery that you no longer require your place after this time. If your child attends from their agreed start date then the cheque deposit will be destroyed.
Fees per session:
the rate per three hour session from Monday to Friday during term time is £16.50 (£6.50 per hour). The fee for a full day of six hours is £33. For an afternoon session or a full day you will need to provide your child with a healthy packed lunch.
Your fee includes a morning snack as well as milk or unlimited water to drink. Early drop-off from 8.30am (£4) or 8.45am (£2) is available on request.
Funded entitlement:
the term after a child is three (cut-off dates are 31st of Jan, March and August) they are entitled to up to fifteen hours of free nursery education and care, for which we are registered. The administrative arrangements for this are done by the nursery, however you will be asked to complete a ‘parental declaration’ to confirm. Please ask for details of eligibility for three and four year olds for 30 hours if you are working parents. If you wish your child to attend for longer than their funded entitlement, the standard fee (above) applies for any extra sessions. If you are in receipt of certain benefits, please ask about funded sessions for two year olds – we are registered for ‘Free for 2’ and you may be eligible. Free early education for two, three and four year olds is based on a Core Offer of 570 hours a year over no fewer thatn 38 weeks. For those only accessing their Free Early Education entitlement of up to 15 hours, a written statement of hours is available on request.
Method of payment:
fees are due in advance (cash or cheque payable to ‘Bertie’s Nursery’) at the beginning of each term when you will be issued with a bill. By prior arrangement only, fees can be paid weekly in advance. In the case of non/late payment (without reasonable circumstances) we reserve the right to withdraw your child’s place – please speak to us if you are experiencing difficulties with payments so that we can avoid this happening. Children in receipt of funded sessions will be unable to access any additional fee-paying hours until outstanding fees are settled.
Absence:
fees are still payable in the case of absence – for example through illness or when on holiday during term time. This is because the overheads for the nursery remain the same.
Late pick-up/collection of child:
there is a late collection charge of £5 for every ten minutes after your child’s due collection time. This is to cover the cost of staff time to ensure the continued safety of your child.
Notice to leave:
if your child no longer requires their place at the nursery, it is necessary to give at least four weeks notice.
Visits and special events:
from time to time, such as at Christmas and at the end of the Summer term, we may arrange special events. These will be payable by parents/carers and advance notice will be given.
When accepting a place for your child at Bertie’s, it is with agreement of these conditions.
